Creative Pimp Piet
In autumn 2024, the museum started a collaboration with a group of Year 12 students, who were paired with museum educators Rob Benders and Jasmijn Duterloo. Building on the Swap Sint initiative from 2023, we challenged the students to put sustainability on the agenda in the run-up to Sinterklaas, a celebration centred around gifts and sweets.
After several brainstorming sessions, they developed the concept Creatieve Pimp Piet: a workshop for pupils from nearby primary schools in which they transformed discarded toys into beautiful little works of art. Throw away something old or broken straight away? Not at all – with a little creativity, you can make all kinds of things!
