Purpose of the website
We want everyone to be able to use our website, regardless of disability or the assistive technology they use. We aim to meet the WCAG 2.2 accessibility guidelines at level AA. The main purposes of the website are to provide information about exhibitions and activities, give access to our collection, and help visitors plan their museum visit.
Areas that are not yet fully accessible
- In some places, there is not enough contrast between the text and the background
- In some places, colour is used as the only way to communicate information
- Some images are missing alternative text, or the description is not accurate
- On some pages, headings are not used consistently or in the correct order
- Some page titles are not unique or descriptive
- Some link text is not descriptive enough without the surrounding context
- Some buttons do not have an accessible name
We are working with our technical partner to improve accessibility. The issues we have identified have been mapped out and are being addressed step by step. We are also planning an external audit to provide a full and independent assessment of the current level of accessibility.
We werken samen met onze technische partner aan verbeteringen. De geconstateerde knelpunten zijn in kaart gebracht en worden stapsgewijs opgelost. We plannen een externe audit om de stand van zaken volledig en onafhankelijk te laten beoordelen.
