Goal
The museum aims to preserve, manage, selectively expand, improve and exhibit the collections managed by the municipality of Venlo and the museum van Bommel van Dam Foundation, as well as everything directly or indirectly related to this or which could be conducive to this, in the broadest sense.
Board composition
Since 1 January 2019, Stichting Museum Bommel van Dam has been an independent foundation. Its board consists of six members: Nick Bos (Chair), Addy Lutgenau (Treasurer), Amanda Vollenweider (Board Member), Edwin Jacobs (Board Member), Vincent Pijnenburg (Board Member) and Jos Teeuwen (Board Member). The day-to-day organisation is led by General Director Rieke Righolt. The programme is developed by the museum team, including the curator and programme maker, with support from other members of staff.

Remuneration policy
Board members of Stichting Museum van Bommel van Dam are reimbursed for expenses they need to make in order to carry out their role properly. They may also receive an attendance fee. All board members have joint authority. Stichting Museum van Bommel van Dam follows the Museum Collective Labour Agreement 2024–2026 and pays its employees in line with this agreement.
