Become a volunteer
Museum van Bommel van Dam could not do without the help of enthusiastic volunteers. As a volunteer, you may welcome visitors, support the team in the exhibition spaces, at the reception desk and in the museum shop, give guided tours, or help our permanent staff behind the scenes. You will meet many visitors and colleagues and play an active role in creating a warm and welcoming experience as a representative of the museum.
What can you expect?
As a volunteer, you will be part of a friendly team of around 50 volunteers. You will be supported by the museum’s Volunteer Coordinator. During your shifts, you will always work together with other volunteers, visitor services staff and/or gallery attendants.
What do we offer?
You will receive free admission to the museum, a discount on items from the museum shop, free coffee and tea, and invitations to special activities. We also organise an annual volunteer day and provide training to help you feel confident in your role as a volunteer.
What do we expect from you?
- You have an interest in modern and contemporary art;
- You are welcoming and represent the museum in a professional way;
- You are willing to learn about the museum programme and are able to share this with visitors;
- You are open and friendly, and comfortable working with visitors and colleagues of different ages and from a range of cultural backgrounds.
Volunteer roles include reception host, gallery host, education volunteer, exhibition guide, and helping with the installation and removal of exhibitions. Meet some of our volunteers:
