Free admission to museum van Bommel van Dam for all children and young people aged 17 and under
All children and young people aged 17 and under can now visit museum van Bommel van Dam for free. Children aged 7 and under could already visit for free with their parents or carers. We want to help make sure that every child has the chance to discover art and artists, regardless of the opportunities they have at school or at home.
Van Bommel van Dam – by and for everyone
Besides encouraging children to discover art and artists, we believe it is important that everyone growing up in the region knows where to find the museum.
“Of course, we then hope to introduce them to the wonderful world of looking at art and help them understand a little of the way an artist thinks. One step in the right direction is removing the financial barrier for children under 18. We hope this will make it easier for parents and carers to simply pop in with their children,” says Sanne Aben, Education and Public Participation Officer.
Looking at art together with children
Alongside inspiring activities connected to our exhibitions, we have also worked with children and partners such as Pluck Experience, Lokaal C and Luidspreker to develop activities that make looking at art together with children even more engaging and enjoyable. Examples include De Bovenkamer, our free-to-visit attic studio, and the VBVD Activity Book. This booklet is full of creative activities that families can use to explore our museum together.
